**Celebrate the New Year by learning a New Skill**
When: Tuesdays, 6:30 pm to 9 pm.
Cost: $315.00 + $25.00 for one bag of clay (cost of clay includes glazes and firing)
Location: Gladstone Clayworks Pottery Co-op, 949B Gladstone Ave, Ottawa
Learn the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel; wedging, centring, opening and pulling (raising) the walls of cylinders and bowls. Also learn trimming, various surface decorating techniques and glazing. While emphasis will be on the wheel there will also be some hand building. The focus of the course will be on building technical skills and exploring the design options of different ways of working with clay.
A basic pottery tool kit can be purchased at the first class at a cost of $20.00, or can be borrowed from the teacher.
Your instructor will be Carol Holmes-Kerr. She has been working with clay for 19 years and has been teaching beginners classes in throwing and hand building for 7 years.
This class is limited to 6 students to provide as much individual attention as possible, so please register ASAP as these classes fill up quickly.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
If a registered student drops out after the first class, they will receive a refund of $150.00, provided they give notice no later than 48 hours prior to the second scheduled class. Notice must be sent to the Gladstone Clayworks email, firstname.lastname@example.org. There will be no refund if the student cancels after that.
