I have been working with Clay for over 14 years starting in 1996 at a local Community Center.
In 1999, I moved to a member based Studio in Almonte where I eventually took on all aspects of running the Studio including management, Teaching, (Adult and Children’s Classes.), as well as technical duties, (Glaze mixing, and firings).
After ten years in Almonte I had the opportunity to move into the Gladstone Clayworks Cooperative closer to home.
At Gladstone Clayworks I teach throwing and some hand building.
My approach when teaching is to offer a balance between technique and creativity. I try to give my students a good base through repetition then adapt to each students needs.
