I enjoy experimenting with ceramic solutions to some of life’s small problems. Most often, this leads to ceramic pieces that are functional. Sometimes, they serve more than one purpose.

While I’m pleased to take something from a thought to its concrete physical expression, the end result is rarely my main objective. Every project is a test of an idea, ergonomic and structural design, and one or more decorative options. The learning along the way is tremendously satisfying.

Favourite design elements include exposed bare clay, repeated patterns and simple motifs, often layered for a pleasant or curious effect.
