Clay cost: $40 — includes glazing and firing. This cost will be paid directly to the instructor at the first class. Additional clay can be purchased if necessary.
Class Description: This class will focus on refining and developing throwing skills and on developing each student’s skills and aesthetic. We will work on throwing large bowls, pots with lids, ways of making handles and spouts.
The goal of the class is to enable the student to refine and develop skills and to encourage individual artistic development. The class will be limited to four students with a great deal of individual attention and problem solving. At least two previous courses are recommended but exceptions may be made based on previous experience. Please contact Barbara Minish directly for more information.
COVID-19 Infection Prevention Measures: All participants will be required to wear a mask at all times and stay two metres (six feet) apart from those outside of their household. Participants will be expected to wash their hands regularly and use hand sanitizer.
About the Instructor:
Barbara Minish started making pots more than 30 years ago at Winnipeg’s Stoneware Gallery/Studio. Barbara is currently an instructor at Loam and Gladstone Clayworks, and is also a member of Gladstone Clayworks, where she creates her pieces.

Marie embraced clay in the 90’s through community classes which ignited the path to a career as a maker, instructor and studio technician. A long time member of the Ottawa Guild of Potters, Marie has served as chair on several committees and is a repeat contributor to the infamous Great Bowls of Fire bowl donation.Email for more Information
