Covid-19 Update

In accordance with City of Ottawa and provincial government regulations and guidance, Gladstone Clayworks is gradually reopening. At this time, the studio is open to members only on a scheduled basis. We will announce the reopening of the gallery and launch of classes when we are safely able to do so. We appreciate your ongoing support for local artists.

About the Studio

Gladstone Clayworks has 25 members who pursue their love of clay in a creative and supportive artist-run space. Formed in 2003, ClayWorks continues to thrive and evolve with its diverse membership. Our artists show their individually distinctive works in our gallery, as well as in galleries across Ottawa, Canada and internationally. Several members have won awards for their work.

Sharing Our Passion

Clayworks offers pottery classes on Teaching Tuesdays, with four sessions offered each year. Students learn basic and advanced pottery skills under the experienced instruction of our artists. Private lessons are also available. We also welcome the public to visit our studio during our Fall Open House, Doors Open Ottawa events, Gallery Sales, and during other community events.

Studio Features

Gladstone ClayWorks is Ottawa’s only co-operative pottery studio. We are located in a century-old industrial bakery building in Little Italy, surrounded by other artists and creative collectives, shops and a vibrant urban neighbourhood. The studio itself is a brightly lit, welcoming and warm space of 1800 square feet.

Our Gallery

Our studio offers a pottery gallery open to the public, by appointment or by chance. Come and visit our gallery to view our members' work.
